The project consists of the design of a diversion boom on the Ottawa River to protect the Lemieux Island water intake from Frazil. The contract includes the supply of all components and the installation of the boom.

Reason For Project
Intake sucks in frazil ice and clogs it so they can’t supply water to the city.
Solution
Boom diverts the ice so it keeps moving down the river and forms a cover.
Outcome
Boom was built, installed and still in service.
