Ice Resistant Debris and Safety Booms

Multiple ice-resistant debris and safety booms designed and installed as part of the Eastmain project in Quebec for the James Bay Corporation (Hydro Quebec).

  • Design, fabrication and installation of a safety boom upstream of the Lemare control gates, for Eastmain A1 project.
  • Design, fabrication and installation the 700 m long Rupert debris boom. The boom was designed to resist debris and ice.
  • Design, fabrication and installation of a debris and security boom upstream of the diversion canal for Eastmain A1 project. The boom was designed to resist debris and ice.
  • Design, fabrication and installation of three security booms. Two were temporary and the last one was permanent as part of the Eastmain A1 project.
